Project Spotlight: 4,000-Square-Foot Deck Replacement and Pool Area Expansion by AMA Development
AMA Development undertook the complete overhaul of a 4,000-square-foot deck after identifying critical construction flaws in the original build. The initial deck had improper footing placement, with foundations that were not set deep enough, and undersized glulam beams that compromised structural integrity. After consulting with the client, it was determined that a full replacement was necessary to ensure safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal.
In addition to replacing the deck, AMA Development expanded the pool area, creating a more spacious and inviting outdoor environment. A new retaining wall was built to provide stability and enhance the landscape design. One of the project’s creative challenges was seamlessly connecting the composite deck with the stamped concrete surrounding the pool. AMA Development devised an elegant solution by integrating bluestone as a transitional material instead of outdated brick and installing a modern drainage system to prevent water accumulation and ensure long-term durability, creating a cohesive and polished appearance.
To complete the transformation, AMA Development installed decorative lighting on the stairs and deck railing, enhancing the ambiance and usability of the space during the evening.
There is nothing AMA Development can’t accomplish—this project is a testament to our craftsmanship, creativity, and ability to deliver outstanding results, even on the most complex renovations.
